Mercedes KV Makes NXT Debut

Recent WWE signee Mercedes KV made her in-ring debut at last night’s NXT live event in Tampa, Florida.

She teamed up with Audrey Marie to take on former SHIMMER stars Paige and Emma in tag action and even managed to walk away victorious in her first NXT match.

The 20-year old signee sent out a Tweet following the match: “First match @NXT so blessed and thankful for this opportunity!”

Mercedes and Charlotte shared ring announcing duties at the previous weekend’s show.

Brittney Savage, Lucious Latasha, and Gabby Gilbert Attend WWE Tryouts

This past weekend in Tampa, the WWE held open tryouts at its FCW/NXT arena.

Based on their recent tweets, those among the indy talents to try out were Brittney Savage, Gabby Gilbert and Luscious Latasha.

The tweets in question can be seen here, here and here.

Diva Dirt has learned that in addition to these names, there were two untrained women at the tryouts. One was a fitness model and the other is friends with Jerry Brisco.

Raquel Diaz Not Released?

Contrary to a previous report, it appears as though Raquel Diaz, also known as Shaul Guerrero, has not been released by the WWE.

F4WOnline.com’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE officials are refusing to release her from her contract at this time, despite the fact that she has grown distant and is “very bitter about the wrestling business.”

Previous comments from Shaul and her mother Vickie seemed to indicate that she had been granted her release. It’s likely that they were under the impression that the matter was settled.

Officials Happy With Jillian's Tryout

As reported last week, former WWE Diva Jillian Hall took part in a dark match prior to last week’s live episode of Impact.

Jillian faced veteran Knockout, Tara, in the match.

According to F4WOnline.com, TNA officials are happy with the former Divas Champ’s tryout, feeling she did well.

Could this lead to a possible role in TNA for the veteran? Watch this space…

Alpha Female vs. Nanae Takahashi Announced; Alpha Female on TNA Spin Cycle

Japanese all-women’s promotion Stardom has announced a major match for its October 21st show: Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion Alpha Female will be taking on Stardom regular Nanae Takahashi.

For more on the Stardom promotion, visit its official website.

Alpha Female also recently taped an episode of TNA’s Spin Cycle, carrying her EVE Championship belt while on camera. Video of that episode hasn’t surfaced yet.

This isn’t the only time The Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion has been connected to TNA: she was spotted at a TNA fan party in London at the beginning of September and took part in a TNA tryout during another overseas trip by the company back in January 2010.

Alpha Female, Angelina Love, Emi Sakura & More Confirmed for Pro-Wrestling: Eve’s “Wrestle-Fever”

Pro-Wrestling: EVE has announced several matches for its November 10th Wrestle-Fever event, including a main event title defense by Champion Alpha Female and the Pro-Wrestling: EVE debut match of former TNA Knockout Angelina Love.

Several talent has been confirmed for the show as well, including April Davids and former TNA Knockout Taylor Wilde.

Also announced today apart from the main press release was the EVE return of Ice Ribbon star Emi Sakura, who competed in the Pro-Wrestling: EVE vs. Ice Ribbon event:

A 21 time champion. IWA Japan. FMW. AJW. JWP. NEO. DDT. Ice Ribbon. Mid-Summer Tag Tournament VIII winner. Winner of the prestigious Tokyo Sports Magazine Wrestler Of The Year Award. Pro-Wrestling:EVE is pleased to announce that at WRESTLE-

FEVER on Saturday November 10 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time will return to the UK! EMI SAKURA is back in Pro-Wrestling:EVE!

NEW MATCHES ANNOUNCED!
Europe’s First All Female Mega Event!

Pro-Wrestling:EVE, Europe’s premier all female professional wrestling promotion present their biggest event yet with WRESTLE-FEVER live on iPPV on Saturday 10 November 2012 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk.

**

THE MAIN EVENT

Headlining the mega event will be the rematch almost 2 years in the making as Pro-Wrestling:EVE Champion Alpha Female defends the EVE Championship against the number 1 contender and the only woman to have defeated Alpha Female in 2 and a half years – “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm.

Storm earned her title shot by winning the 2012 Queen Of The Ring Tournament at Europe’s first ever live iPPV “No Man’s Land” presented by Pro-Wrestling:EVE this past February with wins over Hannah Blossom, Viper and Kay Lee Ray and has en route to her title match gone on to record victories over Erin Angel, Polly Anna and TNA Knockout & former WWE Diva Kat “Winter” Waters. In fact Storm will be entering The Delphi Centre in Sudbury on an incredible 19 month winning streak.

After winning the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship in front of over 900 fans this past April from grappling gold medallist Jenny Sjodin, Alpha Female has been grabbing headlines all over the UK. The EVE Champion has been heavily featured in national newspaper The Daily Star in addition to Challenge TV’s Wrestle-Talk TV Chat Show (Sunday nights 11pm on Challenge TV directly after TNA Impact!) and recently recorded an episode of TNA Spin Cycle. The 6’1″ Professional Predator that is Alpha Female has lost just one match in two and a half years and on November 10 The German Giant gets an opportunity to avenge that one and only defeat when she puts the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship on the line against number one contender and self proclaimed “World’s Finest Wrestler” Nikki Storm live on iPPV.

Tickets for Wrestle-Fever: Alpha v Storm are available now from www.EVEwrestling.com/EVENTS or by calling 01787 82 82 87.

You can follow both Alpha Female and Nikki Storm on Twitter @AlphaFemale1 and @NikkiStorm1

ANGELINA LOVE VS CARMEL JACOB

EVEwrestling.com has confirmed that former five time TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love will step into an EVE ring for the first time on Saturday November 10 at WRESTLE-FEVER in Sudbury, Suffolk, UK against one of the top stars in Europe today in Carmel Jacob of The Glamour Gym!

On the surface it’s easy to think of this as a tough challenge for Carmel going against a twelve year pro and world travelled performer in Angelina Love, but it’s also an incredibly tough challenge for the former member of The Beautiful People.

Carmel Jacob is a near eight year pro who despite her attitude has never been known to turn down a challenge. From facing Alpha Female to competing in Scotland’s first ever female death-match, Carmel Jacob is a manipulative and conniving individual who doesn’t make rash decisions. Carmel will be coming into this match as she does all matches -with a game plan, and it appears stage one is already evident as it’s also been revealed that both Carmel and Sara-Marie now hold an official “Corner Licence” to one another. This means Carmel’s Glamour Gym tag team partner Sara-Marie Taylor will be at ringside to support her team mate and knowing their history the two will be looking to exploit this for everything they can. Will Angelina Love fall prey to the trap of The Glamour Gym – or will the experience of the former TNA Tag Team Champion be enough to outwit the duo and any attempted shenanigans?

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love comes to Pro-Wrestling:EVE on Saturday November 10 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk, England and goes one on one with Carmel Jacob of The Glamour Gym.

Tickets available NOW at www.EVEwrestling.com/events

You can follow Angelina Love on Twitter @ActualALove and Carmel Jacob @Carmel_Jacob

KIRSTY LOVE VS “THE HARDCORE DAREDEVIL” BLUE NIKITA

Blue Nikita thinks Kirsty Love is a joke. She believes it’s a travesty that a “joke comic wrestler” such as Kirsty Love has had the opportunity to appear on EVE events such as the EVE v ICE series and the first ever live European iPPV “No Man’s Land” while she’s been left at home. The Greek native let these feelings out publicly after suffering a frustrating loss to “The Female Fight Machine” Jenny Sjodin this past July at EVE Special Edition ranting and raving about it at anyone within earshot. Later in the evening as Kirsty attempted to stop Rhia O’Reilly from interfering during the EVE Championship match between defending Champion Alpha Female and the challenger “The Female Predator, Amazon” Ayesha Ray, Kirsty Love was attacked from behind by “The Hardcore Daredevil” herself and the two brawled to the back where they had to be separated by back room staff and roster members.

As a result of all of the above it has been decided that these two will face each other in the ring for the very first time as THE DAREDEVIL BLUE NIKITA goes one on one with Kirsty Love!

Can Love prove she’s more than just the “Joke comic wrestler” that Blue Nikita claims and live up to her biggest match yet? Or will Blue Nikita get to take out her career frustrations in violent manor on the teenager? We’ll find out at EVE on November 10 in Sudbury!

Tickets available now from www.EVEwrestling.com/events or by calling 01787 82 82 87

JANEY BRITANNICO VS “PORTUGAL’S PERFECT ATHLETE” SHANNA

Jane Beatrix Dunn. Super Janey B. Janey Britannico. 99.9% of people believe these three individuals are one and the same. The .1% that refutes these claims is Britannico herself. Nobody knows why the now UK Luchadora denies it but she evidently has her reasons.
“Portugal’s Perfect Athlete” Shanna has had a difficult year, first missing the EVE iPPV “No Man’s Land” back in February after suffering a shoulder injury at the hands of Jenny Sjodin, then a few months later she was forced to undergo knee surgery which and miss “Special Edition” in July and kept her away until now. EVEwrestling.com recently caught up with Shanna who’s displaying more of an attitude than previously seen and will no doubt be looking to make an impact with a successful return.

There is however something to be said about the pairing of these two in a contest on this particular night for as we know this is also the date where Shanna’s “Perfect Storm” tag team partner “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm challenges Alpha Female for the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship….Janey Britannico – should she in fact be the same person as Jane Beatrix Dunn and Super Janey B – just happens to be the only person Alpha has ever shown any emotion towards when she rescued the former Glamour Gym PA from a beating at the hands of Sara-Marie Taylor and Carmel Jacob and would later go on to successfully team with the would-be Super-Hero against The Glamour Gym at the following EVE event.
Could Janey Britannico and Alpha Female do
the double on “Perfect Storm” in singles competition? Will Shanna telegraph Alpha’s future with a win over Janey Britannico? We’ll find out on November 10 at WRESTLE-FEVER!

“The All-Star” Erin Angel vs “The Technical Supremo” Fiona Fraser

Much like Shanna “The All-Star” Erin Angel also returns to EVE action on Saturday November 10 when she battles the debuting “Technial Supremo” Fiona Fraser. While not a great deal is currently known about Fraser we can tell you that she is a graduate of the SWA academy in Glasgow, Scotland which also produced talent such as “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm, Viper, Kirsty Love, Joe Coffey and Damian O’Connor. As per her nickname Fraser specialises in technical wrestling. A fan of the World of Sport era of British Wrestling Fraser has a made a point to directly learn from and train with respected veterans such as Johnny Kidd in addition to studying legendary talents such as Johnny Saint and Steve Grey. A victory over Erin Angel would not only be the biggest win in the career of Fraser but it would also be the biggest statement any debuting Professional has ever made in the rings of EVE and will no doubt usher in the dawn a supreme era!

When you’re talking about British wrestling, one of the leading faces of modern British wrestling over the last 10 years is without a doubt “The All Star” Erin Angel. Despite just being in her mid twenties Erin began her wrestling career at the tender age of just 15. Directly learning from respected British wrestling talents such as Doug Williams, Johnny Storm, Phil Powers & “The Soldier Of Doom” Jace The Ace it was Erin Angel that was the first female British wrestler to bring the high flying style to the women’s scene in Europe while never forgetting the roots of her country by also learning its historic art-form. While Erin Angel is arguably the most respected female wrestler in the UK today amongst her peers it can be said that she’s never truly received the recognition and attention that she truly deserves by fans and promotions the world over. Because of this “The All-Star” will no doubt be looking to get back on to winning ways in EVE with a victory over “The Technical Supremo” and beginning putting together a challenge for whomever comes out of the main event as the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Champion.

**

Also set to appear at WRESTLE-FEVER:

Holly & Hannah – THE BLOSSOM TWINS!
Taking time away from their TNA British Bootcamp filming is Holly & Hannah Blossom who will be looking to put their loss to Ama-Reilly at Special Edition behind them!

“The Fightin’ Irish” Rhia O’Reilly & “The Amazon” Ayesha Ray – AMA-REILLY

They ran riot throughout the whole night at EVE Special Edition and no doubt Rhia & Ayesha will be looking to do the same thing again at WRESTLE-FEVER!

**

Kacey & Leigh – THE OWENS TWINS

Ireland’s twin tandem will be looking to secure their first victory in Pro-Wrestling:EVE!

**

“The Lancashire Terrier” APRIL DAVIDS

After missing Special Edition and reaching the finals of the 2012 Queen Of The Ring Tournament the woman who went from opening match to main event in the space of just 17 months will be looking to regain her place with a victory at WRESTLE-FEVER!

**

KAY LEE RAY

Kay Lee Ray is arguably the most exciting female wrestler in Europe today and after just missing out on 2012 Queen Of The Ring following a loss in the finals to “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm, the human red arrow of wrestling will be wanting to get into the title hunt with a big win at WRESTLE-FEVER!

**

THE DEBUT OF A BRAND NEW TAG TEAM

The Tag Team division is certainly heating up and EVEwrestling.com has learned that a brand new tag team will debut at WRESTLE-FEVER but unfortunately for whomever their opponents may be, we won’t find out their identities until match time itself!

**

FORMER TNA KNOCKOUT CHAMPION TAYLOR WILDE

Angelina Love won’t be the only former TNA Knockout in attendance at Wrestle-Fever on November 10. Former TNA Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde will be making her first wrestling event appearance since retiring in February 2011. Fans lucky enough to be in attendance will get the incredibly rare opportunity to meet and get their picture taken with the former 2 time TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion.

**

THAT’S NOT ALL FOLKS…..

Stay tuned to our FaceBook page http://www.FaceBook.com/EVEwrestling and keep an eye out for our tweets by following us @ProWrestlingEVE as we’ll soon be announcing Angelina Love’s opponent at #WrestleFever and we’ll also be announcing more names that are currently scheduled to appear at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury on November 10 including another return after a period of absence, EVE debuts~ and more!

Skyler Moon Reveals Eating Disorder

Just over a week ago, we reported that Skyler Moon‘s absence from WWE‘s NXT live event shows and on the company’s website was because of her being part of sponsored rehab. Following that, some websites erroneously reported that the rehab was down to drug issues, which the former Buggy Nova took to her Twitter to clarify:
For all the rumors and speculations, I do not have a drug problem, I have an eating disorder. Thank you all for the love and support!! I will b back stronger then ever :) soon!!!!! I love you guys thanks for having my back. I’m not ashamed of my disease, i’m blessed to want to make myself better.
The series of tweets has since been deleted for reasons unknown, but it prompted speculation about whether going into rehab would affect her standing in WWE. I have a few thoughts on that – but first, it may be worth providing some insight on what Skyler is dealing with, and it’s just as serious as any addiction.

While Moon makes no reference of what eating disorder she is battling, it tends to be one of two – Anorexia nervosa or Bulimia nervosa. The U.S. National Library of Medicine defines anorexia as when someone who loses weight than is considered healthy for their age and height, with people possibly experiencing intense fear of weight gain, even when they are underweight. Bulimia is slightly different, as it is comprised of binge-eating food and then purging it by either vomiting or using laxatives to prevent weight gain – some people with bulimia may also be anorexic, though this is not always the case. When it comes to anorexia, the University Of Iowa claims “participation in sports, ballet, modeling, wrestling, and other activities that promote thinness accentuates the drive to lose weight.

Complications from anorexia can include osteoporosis (brittle bones, which is not good for wrestling), kidney and liver problems, depression, tooth decay and seizures. Bulimia can lead to issues like dental cavities and permanent damage to the oesophagus due to the acid from vomiting, as well as electrolyte imbalances, depression again and pancreatitis. Both conditions are potentially fatal. In the US, there are up to 24 million people with an eating disorder, and the conditions have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.

As you can see, we are talking about serious consequences here. A number of celebrities have dealt with eating disorders in the past. Paula Abdul, Lady Gaga, Joan Rivers, Sharon Osbourne, Geri Halliwell and in the last few hours, Nicole Scherzinger have all admitted to battling bulimia, while Calista Flockheart, Snooki, Tara Reid, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Halliwell’s Spice Girl bandmates Victoria Beckham and Mel C have all dealt with anorexia, while in wrestling, Angelina Love had to go to some lengths to refute claims that she had a problem. Some, like Jane Fonda and Alanis Morrisette fought both issues, while for others, it has claimed their life – the most famous of which was Karen Carpenter, who went on a water diet to lose weight, before eventually dying from her anorexia in 1983 at the age of 32 weighing just 80 pounds.

With all that in mind, and considering the potentially lethal consequences of eating disorders, I have to congratulate 22-year old Skyler for acknowledging hers, and also accepting the help which WWE offered to her. As Halliwell told the BBC in 2003, part of the recovery means holding your hands up in the air: “I think there’s a well known quote – the truth sets you free. It’s a very liberating thing – when you say this is who I am warts and all and then you can just get on with life. It’s amazing.”

By accepting the help, Moon has shown – and stated in her tweets – that she WANTS to deal with it, and that is a massive boost to her – which brings us back to the speculation about if this will affect her prospects. Personally, I would not imagine it will. After all, she has accepted the help rather than reject it – doing that may have been a black mark against her, as Jeff Hardy was released from WWE in 2003 for not accepting rehab for what was later revealed to be an addiction to crystal meth. By showing the strength to sort things out rather than bury her head in the sand, it has to be a plus.
If you wanted to take a more cynical look at things, it would not look good for WWE to let someone go after they have accepted the help – in that situation, Skyler would be damned if she did and damned if she didn’t. Besides, the media would have a field day with it, and despite her not being part of WWE anymore, Linda McMahon‘s political opponents may try to use it as ammunition.
There is no guarantee that it will be a permanent solution – former Big Brother UK contestant and admitted anorexic Nikki Grahame has relapsed a number of times, and has been in rehab on eleven occasions, saying “It’s something I will battle all of my life, but I want more than anything to get it under control” – but it’s certainly a step in the right direction, and that has to be supported.
There is a possibility that Moon’s temporary public acknowledgement could inspire others to seek help, which is a light in the dark. A couple of examples of websites where you can get more advice on eating disorders can be found by clicking here and here.

All the best to you Skyler, hopefully we’ll see you back in the ring at some point soon.

Wrestle-Dirt Dirt Sheet (October 2nd, 2012)

“I don’t think there’s a better female wrestler in the world right now.”

Not my words – though I agree with them – but the words of WWE Champion CM Punk, who confirmed that Sara Del Rey has been employed as a trainer for the company and will be working in its developmental facilities in Florida.
We have stayed deathly quiet over Del Rey’s signing with WWE since we found out, as they notoriously hate their private business affairs being discussed openly, and would not want to jeopardise the position of anyone signing a contract with them. For that reason, we wait until the ink is dry and they appear in WWE facilities. That happened on September 28 when Bill DeMott sent out a Tout video of Joey Mercury, Norman Smiley and Del Rey in NXT trainers’ shirts offering a small pitch for wrestlers to come and try out. A photo of the trainers soon followed, and then came the confirmation from Punk at the Ohio Comic Con on September 29.

“We recently hired Sara Del Rey to train our future Divas. I know a lot of people will be like, ‘Oh, that sucks, Sara should be on television’ and maybe you’re right, but I’ve talked to her about it. This is her dream job. She gets to wrestle everyday and she gets paid for it.”

Yes, as of now Sara Del Rey has been employed to train the women, and not to be the star herself. From a fan’s standpoint, it may be disappointment to not see The Queen Of Wrestling kicking bottom on Monday nights, but when you look at the bigger picture, this is the ideal role for someone who has been plugging away for 10 years. Job security, less travel, a proper wage, and the fact that you are staff. That means health insurance, benefits and a much more secure position. If anything, this is the ultimate reward for someone like her.

Sure, if she’s not wrestling, she won’t hold the Divas Title, but so what? What she will have is a legacy of women who she helped to shape and mould going out there and accomplishing under her guidance and tutelage, something for which the developmental women already are showing their gratitude. Earlier today, recent signing Anya tweeted to Del Rey “Great practice today! Thank you”.
Rather than being the big dog, Sara Del Rey is the mother hen.

We will cover more on Sara Del Rey’s signing with WWE very soon, but on a personal note, I’d like to offer her hearty congratulations. For someone who was told that she would have to look more like the Beautiful People to get into TNA, this is a massive middle finger to that short-sighted dismissal.

TNA has banned its wrestlers appearing on indie DVD releases, which means that Knockouts are less likely to be booked for shows. Promotions like SHIMMER and AIW have already said that they won’t be booking TNA talent from now on, as they will be unable to release the footage – in fact, TNA has said that the cameras cannot be on for the matches that their talent participates in.

In retrospect, Velvet Sky (who moved on after her agreeing her release) looks like a genius, while people like Taeler Hendrix who are signed to TNA but are barely used are trapped – for example, you won’t see Hendrix on any more SHINE shows. This may mean that a number of the lesser-used wrestlers are now boxed into their agreement with TNA on a per-show pay deal, but because they don’t receive any bookings, they have to work elsewhere to supplement their income – like when Taylor Wilde famously had to work at Sunglass Hut despite being the Knockouts Champion at the time, and ODB has worked in bars. These are women who want to wrestle, but are having to work other jobs, which destroys the illusion of TV being this big earner. The fact that TNA doesn’t pay its wrestlers enough outright for it to be their own job is horrendous, and now that they can’t wrestle on the side because indie promotions will be loathe to book them for a match that they can’t even sell on DVD in the future, things are even more bleak for them.

While this means there may not be as many of these matches like with the likes of Mickie James facing Kay Lee Ray or Carmel Jacob – unless it’s held for the people in attendance only, and that doesn’t make flying them in profitable in any way – it does mean that promoters may have to look towards their own talent instead of flying in a name that has been on TV, as was astutely pointed out by friend of the site Courtney Rush on her Twitter last week.

She pointed out: “The art of building your own guys/girls into draws renders booking TV “stars” unnecessary. The talent is here. Don’t waste your money. Look at Kalamity. Perfect example. Gets pushed. Goes out to other places to get experience. Takes the ball and runs with it. Star is born.”
Kalamity is a fine example. During her rise on nCw Femmes Fatales, she did not wrestle one woman who was a TNA talent. She was booked strongly, won significant matches and put on great showings to justify her promotion to the top of the card and to the position she is in now.

**

Alpha Female will travel to Japan for the first time later this month. The Pro Wrestling: EVE Champion will make her debut in the country for Stardom on October 21, when she takes on World Of Stardom titleholder Nanae Takahashi. While over there, she will train with the Stardom roster, though the Takahashi match is the only match she is booked for at this time.
We asked the dominant 6 foot tall German for her thoughts on her trip to the Far East, and as part of her reply, she told us: “It was always a huge dream of me to go to Japan, so I’m more than happy that I can cross that out of my wishlist. I heard about Nanae Takahashi the first time when she had her fight against Wesna [Busic, which took place in early 2007], and I was very impressed. I’m honoured that I get the opportunity to step in the ring with her and I’m looking forward to prove myself and the people who have doubts that I can fight in a big league.”

This flying visit to Japan comes before her title defence against Nikki Storm at EVE’s Wrestle Fever show on November 10.

The best of the rest

WWE

Eve Torres tried to suspend Beth Phoenix after the latter beat Natalya in her hometown of Buffalo, NY on SmackDown for the assault on Kaitlyn at Night Of Champions. GM Booker T reversed the decision, and Torres threw a wappy. It was also the first time that Phoenix and Natalya had ever wrestled, and Beth described it as the “highlight” of her career. Also on Superstars, Layla pinned Divas Champ Torres, in what was actually a better match than Beth v Natalya… Figure Four Weekly claims the reason why Beth Phoenix is leaving is because of the stop-start Diva pushes which have caused her to mentally check out, and that another name could be on her way out soon too. RF Video owner Rob Feinstein claims that he has known about her intentions to go for some months now… Despite there being strict dress laws for women in Egypt, Natalya is booked for WWE’s tour there… Raquel Diaz (Shaul Guerrero) has not been released from her WWE developmental contract, though she asked for it. She’s been allowed to return home for as long as she likes, though the door is open for her to return… Skyler Moon has also gone public to discuss going to rehab, which we also revealed last week. She’s pointed out that it is for an eating disorder and not for substance abuse, as had been erroneously reported elsewhere, though never by us. As we said at the time, best wishes to her – she’s in the best place to get the help she needs… To no great surprise, Kelly Kelly has been released from WWE. Her first appearance since her release will be at New York ComicCon on the weekend of October 11-13. Reports say her asking fee is around $10,000… A final thought – considering all of the women who have left or are leaving WWE, maybe Maxine was a bit hasty in quitting when she did. Had she held out for a few more months, she would have received a push by default. After all, once Beth Phoenix goes later this month – something that was also confirmed by Punk at Comic Con – there will be only Layla, Eve, Kaitlyn, Alicia Fox and Natalya wrestling on TV.

TNA

Velvet Sky is still listed on TNA’s website, despite leaving in July… Leva Bates was portrayed as an ally of Aces And Eights on last week’s Impact Wrestling. She sprayed something in Hulk Hogan and Sting’s eyes before they were kidnapped by the gang. Elsewhere on the show, Tara defeated ODB, and former WWE Divas Champion Jillian Hall worked a dark march against Tara before the live show… Rosita’s been announced for New England’s Female Wrestling custom shoot for November. She recently insisted that she is still part of the TNA roster, but this announcement is somewhat curious.

North America

Sassy Stephie & Allysin Kay v Sugar Dunkerton & Aaron Epic has been added to the WSU v Beyond Wrestling show before the Full Steam Ahead card on October 13. Leva Bates will take on nCw Femmes Fatales International Champion Kalamity on the main card in a non-title match… Sassy Stephie, Veda Scott, Kc Spinelli and Davina Rose have been added to the SHIMMER lineup for the end of this month… Kellie Skater will challenge Kalamity for the nCw Femmes Fatales International Championship at Femmes FatalesX on November 3. Cat Power will also be wrestling there, taking on Sweet Saraya, who is gunning for LuFisto… Tammy Lynn Sytch claims that she had an affair with the British Bulldog. Classy. Davey Boy Smith’s daughter Georgia has dismissed it as being attention-seeking bullshit… Jillian Hall has been removed from the Bombshell Ladies Of Wrestling lineup for October 11 and has been replaced with Christina Von Eerie. Also, Ashley Massaro’s images have been completely removed from the promotion’s website… Brittney Savage tweeted that she would be getting a WWE tryout. AJ Lee, who held the WSU Tag Team Championship in 2008 publicly wished her good luck. That may be counterproductive… Jessicka Havok will challenge Jaykus Plisken for the ACW Heavyweight Championship in December. It will be only her second time in the promotion… The card for SHINE 4’s been announced – as well as Sweet Saraya defending the SHIMMER Championship against Jazz, Jessicka Havok meets Leva Bates, Mercedes Martinez faces Santana Garrett and Kellie Skater takes on Reby Sky.

Japan

All this talk recently about no new names coming through the doors at Ice Ribbon, and now we have one – Kuzira Oshima, a 40 year old, 240lb woman who becomes the oldest and heaviest woman on the roster. She debuted 4 years ago before getting injured after just a couple of matches, but came back recently… Yuzuki Aikawa won Stardom’s 5Star GP tournament on Sunday, then challenged Nanae Takahashi for the World Of Stardom Championship, which was accepted, and will take place on Christmas Eve. Aikawa also accepted the challenge of Act Yasukawa for the Wonder Of Stardom belt. Hailey Hatred also made a surprise appearance, siding with Kyoko Kimura… Emi Sakura’s Gatoh Move will hold its first show in a proper ring on November 4 in Itabashi. Sakura, Kaori Yoneyama & new recruit Riho will be on the show. Up until now, the matches have been on mats.

Europe

Pro Wrestling: EVE has announced that it will run a show in Preston, England on February 2 as part of a weekend of events alongside Preston City Wrestling, which has featured a number of women on their cards recently… Meanwhile Kirsty Love v Blue Nikita, and Erin Angel v Fiona Fraser have been announced for EVE’s November 10 show… Shanna will wrestle Katey Harvey on this Saturday’s UKWW/WAWW joint show. The two have been going at it on Twitter recently. On the Saturday just gone, Shanna beat Violet Vendetta… Speaking of Shanna, she will defend her Swiss Championship Wrestling Women’s Championship against former titleholder Laura Wellings on October 27… Pollyanna completed her first wrestling date outside of the UK at the weekend, losing to Rachel Evans… Eloanne won a 3-way in France on Sunday over Morgane Leigh and X-Cute Sweet. She pinned Sweet following a spear… Kay Lee Ray and Carmel Jacob tore into each other as part of the main event of the first ICW: Fierce Females show on Sunday, with Jacob winning their Last Woman Standing Match. A good first show with a strong foundation for the future, it was a 300 sell-out, though there were complaints from fans who couldn’t see the action because of the standing room only crowd. In a funny note from the afterparty, a fan dressed as CM Punk (t-shirt, wristbands, title belt and everything) challenged April Davids to a shoot wrestling match. He was taken down within seconds and choked to the point of unconsciousness. He was fine and was a good sport about it all… WAWW has announced its next show will take place on November 9, and entry will be free.

Australia & New Zealand

Evie made her first successful defence of the IPW Women’s Championship in Auckland on Saturday by defeating Britenay. However, the celebration was short-lived, as her BFF Megan-Kate attacked the titleholder with a baseball bat… Meanwhile, Evie defends the PWWA Interim Championship against Kellie Skater on Saturday, while Megan Kate will take on Shazza McKenzie.

WWE Champion Confirms Beth/ Del Rey Rumors

WWE Champion CM Punk confirmed that former Divas Champion, Beth Phoenix, will be leaving WWE. Furthermore, he confirmed that Sara Del Rey‘s role within WWE will be that of a trainer for the WWE developmental females.

Punk appeared at the Ohio Comic Con September 30 fielding questions from fans. When asked what he would change if he was in charge of WWE, Punk said that there have been a lot of changes behind the scenes, including hiring independent veteran Del Rey as a trainer for up and coming Divas.

He said: “We recently hired Sara Del Rey to train our future Divas. I know a lot of people will be like, ‘Oh, that sucks, Sara should be on television’ and maybe you’re right, but I’ve talked to her about it. This is her dream job. She gets to wrestle everyday and she gets paid for it. I don’t think there’s a better female wrestler in the world right now.”

Punk continued: “She can teach our girls and hopefully the future generation of Divas are going to be that much better for it. Right now, it’s wide open. With Beth leaving, Kelly [Kelly] gone, there’s never been more opportunities for the girls in FCW to step up.”

Based on Punk’s comments it appears Del Rey won’t be a Diva herself on the main roster.

Shaul Guerrero Comments On WWE Departure

Former WWE developmental, Raquel Diaz (Shaul Guerrero), has commented on her WWE departure for the first time.

In a short message on Twitter today, Guerrero wrote:
Thank you all for your love and support, WWE has been one of the highlights of my life. I learned so much and consider them family.
It was reported earlier this week that Guerrero had quit WWE. The news was confirmed by her mother and WWE star, Vickie Guerrero.

Vickie Guerrero Confirms Daughter's Departure

WWE star Vickie Guerrero has confirmed reports that her daughter, Shaul, aka Raquel Diaz, has departed WWE.

In a tweet, Vickie wrote:
@Shaul_Guerrero asked to be released from WWE for personal reasons. Im grateful to WWE for the support & love toward my family
Shaul, the daughter of Vickie and WWE Hall of Famer, Eddie Guerrero, was one of the most pushed Divas in recent WWE developmental history. She received a big push on the rebranded version of NXT with her “Exfoliating Ugliness Tour”. She is also a former FCW Divas Champion.

ICW: Fierce Females Results (w/ thoughts & photos)

Britain’s third all-female wrestling promotion debuts today, with promises of it offering a different sort of product to the likes of the World Association of Women’s Wrestling and Pro Wrestling: EVE. Insane Championship Wrestling: Fierce Females is hyping an evening of hard-hitting wrestling action, coupled with burlesque dancers (which explains the poster’s similarities to the one for the film Burlesque) and a more edgy atmosphere.

Emanating from The Arches in Glasgow, Scotland, the main event of the debut show is a Last Woman Standing match between longtime rivals Kay Lee Ray and Carmel Jacob. The pair also managed to gain some pretty good exposure for the show this week when they were part of a two-page spread in The Scottish Sun newspaper. Other matches on the card include England’s Lisa Fury (replacing an injured Jenny Sjodin) and April Davids against twins Kasey and Leah Owens from Northern Ireland, Miss Nicola Storm facing the “Technical Supremo” Fiona Fraser, and the “Fighting Irish” Rhia O’Reilly taking on England’s Holly Rocamora.

1. Miss Nicola Storm pinned Fiona Frazer following a Perfect Storm.

2. Viper beat Bete Noire with a face first electric chair drop.

3. Rhia O’Reilly defeated Holly Rocamora with the Rhiajustment.

4. Erin Angel bested Sara Marie Taylor with a moonsault.

5. Leah & Kasey Owens beat Lisa Fury & April Davids with stereo middle rope clotheslines.

6. Sakura Lilly pinned Kirsty Loveign with a flying bulldog.

7. Carmel Jacob beat Kay Lee Ray in a Last Woman Standing match when referee Jack Jester didn’t see KLR get back to her feet.

So, to some thoughts on ICW’s first venture into an all-women’s promotion…

• Firstly, the venue was terrific. Located in a nightclub which is located under Glasgow’s busiest railway station, it was the perfect location for what purported itself to be a slightly more adult-themed, underground wrestling show. It certainly managed that.

• As for the audience, with an attendance of 300, it was a legitimate sell-out, so that’s a great thing. Plus, with the acoustics of the Arches, it meant that it was never quiet in there. Some of the chants were very Scottish, and also at times very crude – “get her pumped” and “kick her c*nt in” were two of the repeated chants for the heels – but the strange thing is that it wasn’t done with malice, and is reportedly expected from an ICW crowd. It works for the show, the wrestlers react to it correctly, and everyone enjoys themselves.

• Unfortunately, the first match of the show suffered from first-show-itis, in that it probably wasn’t the finest way to kick off the promotion. While the chain wrestling between Miss Nicola Storm and Fiona Fraser was good – and at times, excellent – the contest fell apart near the end when a Fraser headscissors went awry, and the referee bizarrely stopped counting the winning pinfall before then counting the three, leading to the flattest of finishes. Storm gave the ref the dirtiest of glares before making her way to the back.

• On a side note, Storm’s entrance theme for her holier than thou character is great. It’s her reading rhetoric about the virtues of family entertainment, making her the perfect heel for an ICW crowd. Meanwhile, my first look of Fiona Fraser may have been tainted by a botch and shoddy refereeing, but she’s someone to keep an eye on.

• Similarly, Bete Noire put up a great showing against the talented Viper in a hard-hitting battle which picked the crowd up again. Brawling into the crowd, they really lumped each other with shots which resonated around the building. Back in the ring, Viper connected with a thumping Alabama Slam before missing a Vader Bomb, but Noire was unable to capitalise, as her moonsault attempt saw her eat the knees of her opponent. She finally came unstuck while going for a victory roll, which was countered into the electric chair faceplant by Viper for the win.

• You know what to expect with a Rhia O’Reilly match these days, and that’s a safe pair of hands. Her match with Holly Rocamora may not have been the most dynamic outing on the show, but it more than did its job, as she ended up getting abuse from the fans while Holly garnered a lot of cheers – partly endearing herself by lifting up her skirt to give the fans a flash of her underwear, which in this environment, really established the face-heel dynamic. O’Reilly’s Rhiajustment DDT looked brutal too, spiking Rocamora’s head into the mat for the win.

• Sara Marie Taylor has an amazing figure, isn’t afraid to show it off, and it was all out there for her match against Erin Angel. However, despite that being a catalyst for cheers, Sara is a full-blown heel in ICW, and is accused of being a loose woman, amongst other things. It made the heat for the match really easy, and Angel was beloved as a result. Sara was also constantly distracted by ICW favourite Wee Man, who was in Erin’s corner, and was also treated to a stinkface by the Englishwoman. Erin’s moonsault garnered her the win, but I’m hankering more for her frog-splash these days, which is a thing of beauty.

• You wouldn’t expect April Davids to be involved in a comedy match, but this is what we saw as part of her tag team encounter, aligning with Lisa Fury against Kasey and Leah Owens, with the twins being the babyface tandem. Fury hammed it up for the laughs, while Davids took care of the wrestling, starting out with suplexes and stretches, and the most brutal-looking punt between the legs that I may have ever seen. However, she also brought the funny by whipping her bra out from under her gear to choke Leah with it while she was held in a Mexican Surfboard. The Northern Irish sisters were on the backfoot for most of the match, with Leah taking the bulk of the punishment, but a falling out between Davids and Fury saw them fall victim to stereo middle rope clotheslines for the double pin.
• The Owens Twins are the only female wrestlers in Northern Ireland, which means most of the time they only wrestle each other. Obviously, there is only so much you can learn from wrestling the same person constantly, but as a team, there is something there to watch out for. Very pretty, and easy to like or hate depending on what’s called of them, they deserve to get more bookings in Great Britain. However, the hair extensions – most of which were pulled or fell out during the match – aren’t necessary…

• It was not a misspelling in the results when you saw the name Kirsty Loveign. It’s Kirsty Love’s new character – a rock chick with a chip on her shoulder, managed by James R Kennedy, who walks around with a can of hairspray all the time. She went up against Sakura Lilly, a Londoner who told me afterwards that this was only her second match that wasn’t a trainee show. You couldn’t have known she was that new. Coming out following a performance by one of the excellent burlesque dancers which were peppered throughout the proceedings, she wielded a katana and sported some pretty severe facepaint. Coupled with the tattoos, she really looked the part.
• Admittedly, the action wasn’t without faults, but that is to be expected for someone who is still finding her feet, but Lilly did get the crowd going by chopping Loveign in every corner and along every rope. However, Kirsty got her revenge with chops so loud that somewhere, Mercedes Martinez broke into a smile. As you expect from Kirsty now, her charisma is amazing, and she used it to the fullest here, pulling faces and throwing tantrums, though it was Sakura’s aerial assaults which got her the win, including a second rope dropkick and a flying bulldog for the pin.
• No doubt about it – Kay Lee Ray and Carmel Jacob’s Last Woman Standing match was the best match I’ve seen in person all year. With a long-running rivalry, you knew these women were going to give it their all, and that’s exactly what happened, as they brawled outside the ring pretty much from the start. An early tope by Ray got the proceedings off to a bang, and then the pair fought all over The Arches – much of which happened out of sight from me, so I’ll have to catch the DVD for the lowdown on what happened – but they also didn’t skimp on the weaponry. Jacob really laid it in with the kendo stick shots, but her use of a steel chair backfired when KLR connected with a dropkick which saw the chair blast Carmel in the face so hard that she could have easily been knocked out. The chair was also used against her in a double stomp from the top while Jacob was in a tree of woe, which elicited a huge gasp from the crowd. Ray also popped the audience when she dived from the top rope over the barricades onto Carmel.
• However, it was Jacob who controlled the bulk of the match, and took things to a new level when she produced a bag of thumbtacks – though they also came back to haunt her, as she ended up getting thrown from the top rope onto them, but avoided the subsequent Swanton Bomb attempt which made many fans think Ray had broken her neck. Seriously, these women have no fear.

• The finish came when both fell from the walkway and crawled into the ring while special referee Jack Jester counted them down. Unfortunately, because they were on opposite sides of the ring, he couldn’t look at them both at the same time. That meant that he missed Ray getting to her feet while his back was turned as he looked at Jacob, and turned around to see KLR slumped on the mat again. Meanwhile, Jacob rose at 9 to get the controversial win.

• However, KLR went nuts after the match, attacking Jacob and leaving her laying following a Swanton with a chair on Carmel’s chest. That looked like it really hurt Ray.

• This means the pair are 1-1 in crazy matches, as KLR won the deathmatch between the two last year. Surely another match has to be on the cards.

• So that was Fierce Females. An enjoyable show, albeit with a few kinks to iron out and a few bumps along the way. The refereeing error was a massive shame, some women were wrestling each other for the first time so it was a little awkward at points, it would have been nice to have known the whole card ahead of time, and the sound system could have been a bit better, but overall, I’d give it a thumbs up. The next show is taking place on the weekend on May 3-4, and if you can, check it out. Sure, the language might be 18+ at times, but it’s all done with a big smile – after all, this is Scotland, and swearing comes naturally to them. It’s one of the reasons why the country’s so great.

Sara Del Rey To Work As NXT Trainer

As reported earlier this week, Sara Del Rey has finalized her deal with WWE.

It now appears that the former independent veteran, who already resides in Tampa, Florida, home of WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, has reported to the territory.

Additionally, it looks as though Del Rey will be working as a trainer in NXT.

In a new Tout video message sent out by NXT trainer, Bill DeMott, Del Rey appears in an NXT t-shirt along with fellow trainers Norman Smiley and Joey Mercury promoting an upcoming tryout camp.

The caption for the video reads: “Here are the Coaches, where are the future superstars?”

At this time it’s unclear whether Del Rey will also appear in WWE as a wrestler, but our fingers are certainly crossed!

Kelly Kelly Released

It’s been a long time coming, but it has finally be confirmed in the last few minutes – Kelly Kelly and WWE have parted ways. In the full statement released on WWE.com, it says:

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Kelly Kelly as of today, September 28, 2012. WWE wishes Kelly Kelly the best in all her future endeavors.

In a statement released on her Twitter, Kelly says:

Had an amazing 6 years with wwe made great friends and have the most loyal and amazing fans in the world thanks for the never ending support. Have exciting things in the works can’t wait to share them with you stay tuned.

Kelly’s last mention on WWE TV was on August 20 when her image was in the pre-match graphic for the Divas battle royal to determine the number one contender to the Divas title (which Kaitlyn won) but she never appeared on the show itself. Her last matches were on house shows as part of the Japan and China tour in August, with the final one being on August 11 in Shanghai, defeating Natalya, while her final appearance on TV was a brief comeback earlier that month, beating Eve Torres on August 6 after being backstage for Raw 1,000 in July, but was never used on TV.

Barbie Blank was with WWE for six years (that’s as long as Trish Stratus‘ tenure), having joining the promotion in 2006 at the age of 19 after being spotted while working as a model. She debuted in June of that year as an exhibitionist stripper, who was reportedly given tips on how to be sexy by Vince McMahon, if you can imagine that. She started stepping between the ropes in late-2007 before being drafted to Raw the following year. Eventually, she became the most popular woman on the roster, despite her less-than-stellar skills, and won the Divas Championship on the June 20 Raw when she was voted to take on Brie Bella by the fans. She held the belt until October 2 until she was beaten by Beth Phoenix at Hell In A Cell, and never really reached the heights to challenge for the title again. Aside from Divas action, one of her biggest career highs was in February last year when she teamed with Edge to beat Lay-Cool and Dolph Ziggler in a handicap match to allow her partner to retain his World Heavyweight Championship – she was the one who scored the pin on Layla to end the match, using Edge’s own spear finish. Funnily enough, she was “fired” immediately afterwards by GM Vickie Guerrero – only to be rehired several weeks later by Teddy Long.

In recent months, Kelly has distanced herself from the company, and has been expanding her horizons into mainstream media, which has seen her grace the cover of next year’s Maxim Calendar (and take a high spot in their Hot 100 list), as well as taking bookings for signing appearances independently of WWE with ATA management. Her leaving is not a huge surprise, but her brief return made it appear as if she would still partake in sporadic appearances in the future while being afforded the opportunity of seeking projects outside of the very closed WWE Universe, but apparently that did not come to fruition. Vince McMahon is known to vehemently hate agents, and it seems that unless the company was going to be able to tie her down to a full-time WWE-exclusive deal, they have decided to part ways. Truth be told, she’d done all she could in WWE, having had her extended title run – and it seems nobody was waiting for that Kelly Kelly heel run.

Updates On Raquel Diaz & Skyler Moon

A number of internet rumours have started to circulate this evening over the disappearance of Raquel Diaz‘s profile on the NXT Roster Page – had she been released from her deal? Was it simply a case of her profile page being taken down for maintenance? Well, word has reached us here at Ringbelles that Raquel Diaz, aka Shaul Guerrero, has been released from WWE at her own request. While we’re not at liberty to expand any further on the whys or wherefores at this time, we can at least confirm that as of now, Shaul and WWE have parted ways.

It’s interesting to note yet another female talent stepping away from WWE at their own request, in the same week that it was confirmed by several sources, including the Observer, that Beth Phoenix would be finishing up in October, having requested her own release also – which theoretically may open up a spot on the main roster. Of the women in the developmental system, it would’ve seemed safe to assume that Shaul would have found herself on the main roster sooner rather than later. A third generation member of the legendary Guerrero family, the 21-year-old daughter of Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero and current WWE heat magnet Vickie Guerrero looked to have it made – while she never seemed to have anything quite approaching her father’s instinctual talent level, Shaul was able to throw herself into her most recent “Ultra Diva” role (as seen on NXT as part of her “Exfoliating Ugliness” Tour) very well and was starting to carve herself out a niche amongst the developmental women.

In other NXT Divas related news, the situation regarding the former Buggy Nova, aka Skyler Moon is still murky. Her profile has been missing from the NXT roster page for several weeks, but we’ve been unable to clarify exactly what’s going on. We’ll keep an eye on the story.

UPDATE: Further to the post earlier, we’ve received troubling word that Skyler/Buggy has, in fact, been checked into WWE sponsored rehab, which would explain her profile being gone from the NXT website and her absence from social media for the last month. It brings us no pleasure to report this news, but we hope she can deal with her issues. Her current status either in her rehab program or with the company at large remains unclear, but we wish her all the best at this time.

UPDATE 2: In an interesting twist to the lead story, today the Observer is reporting that WWE officials are saying that Shaul Guerrero is still under contract after all. It remains to be seen what this means, but for now the company line is what the company line is. Speculating, it could mean that there have been eleventh hour talks to salvage a future in the company for Shaul – with Vickie held in good standing on the main roster, and WWE keen to look after Eddie’s family, it would be unsurprising if that is the case. We shall see.

UPDATE 3: Despite Shaul’s mother Vickie Guerrero tweeting in confirmation of our story, explaining that Shaul “asked to be released from WWE for personal reasons. Im grateful to WWE for the support & love toward my family”, the final update on the situation appears to be that WWE have *not* granted a release in the hope that she will return. From what we understand, Shaul has returned home for personal reasons. There is absolutely no expectation or timetable for anything, and what happens will eventually be up to Miss Guerrero, but it seems that while she and the company *have* parted ways, WWE aren’t cutting off an olive branch for when/if she wishes to return.

WSU Full Steam Ahead Card In Place

Women Superstars Uncensored has been rearranging furniture since being taken over by Beyond Wrestling following the Uncensored Rumble V iPPV back in June. Next month, WSU returns to Deer Park, NY for its first card under the Beyond Wrestling umbrella as part of three events over the span of one day – with one of those being an interpromotional show, followed by the comeback WSU event, entitled Full Steam Ahead.

The main event of the WSU card sees World Champion Jessicka Havok defending the title in a triple threat match against Alicia and Lexxus, who both ended up getting the shot at the belt because of the controversial ending of the Uncensored Rumble match. Alicia believed she had won the contest because she was the last in the ring, but Lexxus scooted back in and threw her out. However the screwiness lies in that the competitors didn’t need to go over the top to be eliminated, and all they needed was to touch the arena floor – so considering Alicia was the last one in the ring, there should be no argument. However, that’s what happened, and that’s the reason why both are laying claim to a title shot. Hopefully, this match should clear up any controversy…

Elsewhere, Marti Belle makes her first defence of the WSU Spirit Championship which she won at the Uncensored Rumble against long-running opponent in the New York Wrestling Connection, Nikki Addams. However as of press time, the Tag Team Championship will not be defended at Full Steam Ahead, though the titleholders Sassy Stephie and Allysin Kay will be in action against Kimber Lee and Annie Social. There is a chance that the match will become a title defence as Lee and Social are petitioning WSU for the Midwest Militia to put the belts on the line, but we will have to wait and see how that turns out.

Another non-title match taking place on October 13 will see nCw Femmes Fatales International Champion Kalamity wrestle Leva Bates. It makes sense that that this is not for the title, as while Bates has been more impressive this year, her last match in WSU was in a losing effort against LuFisto, so a wrestler shouldn’t gain a title shot after being defeating in their last contest. Speaking of the Super Hardcore Anime, she will battle rival Mercedes Martinez as part of their ongoing feud spanning across WSU and Femmes Fatales. The last time the pair interacted was at the Uncensored Rumble when LuFisto attacked The Latina Sensation during the latter’s challenge to Havok for the WSU World Title in the Casket Match main event. Tensions are running high, and will escalate further, no matter the result at Full Steam Ahead, as they are due to wage war in a cage at Femmes Fatales X in Montreal on November 3.

Rounding off the card is Brittney Savage taking on Tina San Antonio, Jessie “Bonesaw” Brooks having her open contract answered by Canadian Addy Starr, and CHIKARA‘s Intergalactic Luchadora Saturyne meeting Niya in an Uncensored Opportunity match, where the winner will earn (or in Niya’s case, regain) further WSU bookings.

The WSU roster has more to offer though – as preceding Full Steam Ahead is Beyond Wrestling’s All Aboard , as well as three WSU v Beyond matches for the fans who buy tickets to the other shows, with Havok taking on Mark Angel, and Stephie & Kay facing Sugar Dunkerton & Aaron Epic.

There is no messing around with this return, and we look forward to seeing if the combination of two shows will help to pull fans through the door. Looking at the WSU lineup, it deserves to. Best of luck to WSU for October 13.

Leva Bates Appears For TNA

Independent wrestler, Leva Bates, made a surprise appearance on the September 27th episode of Impact Wrestling.

Bates appeared in a backstage segment with Hulk Hogan and Sting, masquerading as a stage hand asking Hogan, Impact’s General Manager, to sign some documents before spraying both of the legends in the eyes with some sort of substance. Leva was revealed to be in cahoots with the Aces & Eights group who then attacked the pair and abducted them.

No word yet on whether Leva will have a permanent role with TNA going forward or if it was a one-time appearance.

Bates has built up a cult fanbase on the independents due to her quirky personality and love of cosplay; she wrestles wearing costumes of pop culture characters and superheroes, including Spider-Man and Captain Jack Sparrow. She is best known for her work in promotions such as SHIMMER, SHINE and WSU.

Bates is an Orlando local and was trained at the Team 3D Academy under current TNA star, Bully Ray, which could explain how she got the part. She has previously tried out for the company — she and Isis the Amazon competed in a tryout dark match last year.
