Mercedes KV Makes NXT Debut

Recent WWE signee Mercedes KV made her in-ring debut at last night’s NXT live event in Tampa, Florida.

She teamed up with Audrey Marie to take on former SHIMMER stars Paige and Emma in tag action and even managed to walk away victorious in her first NXT match.

The 20-year old signee sent out a Tweet following the match: “First match @NXT so blessed and thankful for this opportunity!”

Mercedes and Charlotte shared ring announcing duties at the previous weekend’s show.

Brittney Savage, Lucious Latasha, and Gabby Gilbert Attend WWE Tryouts

This past weekend in Tampa, the WWE held open tryouts at its FCW/NXT arena.

Based on their recent tweets, those among the indy talents to try out were Brittney Savage, Gabby Gilbert and Luscious Latasha.

The tweets in question can be seen here, here and here.

Diva Dirt has learned that in addition to these names, there were two untrained women at the tryouts. One was a fitness model and the other is friends with Jerry Brisco.

Raquel Diaz Not Released?

Contrary to a previous report, it appears as though Raquel Diaz, also known as Shaul Guerrero, has not been released by the WWE.

F4WOnline.com’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE officials are refusing to release her from her contract at this time, despite the fact that she has grown distant and is “very bitter about the wrestling business.”

Previous comments from Shaul and her mother Vickie seemed to indicate that she had been granted her release. It’s likely that they were under the impression that the matter was settled.

Officials Happy With Jillian's Tryout

As reported last week, former WWE Diva Jillian Hall took part in a dark match prior to last week’s live episode of Impact.

Jillian faced veteran Knockout, Tara, in the match.

According to F4WOnline.com, TNA officials are happy with the former Divas Champ’s tryout, feeling she did well.

Could this lead to a possible role in TNA for the veteran? Watch this space…

Alpha Female vs. Nanae Takahashi Announced; Alpha Female on TNA Spin Cycle

Japanese all-women’s promotion Stardom has announced a major match for its October 21st show: Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion Alpha Female will be taking on Stardom regular Nanae Takahashi.

For more on the Stardom promotion, visit its official website.

Alpha Female also recently taped an episode of TNA’s Spin Cycle, carrying her EVE Championship belt while on camera. Video of that episode hasn’t surfaced yet.

This isn’t the only time The Pro-Wrestling: EVE Champion has been connected to TNA: she was spotted at a TNA fan party in London at the beginning of September and took part in a TNA tryout during another overseas trip by the company back in January 2010.

Alpha Female, Angelina Love, Emi Sakura & More Confirmed for Pro-Wrestling: Eve’s “Wrestle-Fever”

Pro-Wrestling: EVE has announced several matches for its November 10th Wrestle-Fever event, including a main event title defense by Champion Alpha Female and the Pro-Wrestling: EVE debut match of former TNA Knockout Angelina Love.

Several talent has been confirmed for the show as well, including April Davids and former TNA Knockout Taylor Wilde.

Also announced today apart from the main press release was the EVE return of Ice Ribbon star Emi Sakura, who competed in the Pro-Wrestling: EVE vs. Ice Ribbon event:

A 21 time champion. IWA Japan. FMW. AJW. JWP. NEO. DDT. Ice Ribbon. Mid-Summer Tag Tournament VIII winner. Winner of the prestigious Tokyo Sports Magazine Wrestler Of The Year Award. Pro-Wrestling:EVE is pleased to announce that at WRESTLE-

NEW MATCHES ANNOUNCED!
Europe’s First All Female Mega Event!

Pro-Wrestling:EVE, Europe’s premier all female professional wrestling promotion present their biggest event yet with WRESTLE-FEVER live on iPPV on Saturday 10 November 2012 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk.

**

THE MAIN EVENT

Headlining the mega event will be the rematch almost 2 years in the making as Pro-Wrestling:EVE Champion Alpha Female defends the EVE Championship against the number 1 contender and the only woman to have defeated Alpha Female in 2 and a half years – “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm.

Storm earned her title shot by winning the 2012 Queen Of The Ring Tournament at Europe’s first ever live iPPV “No Man’s Land” presented by Pro-Wrestling:EVE this past February with wins over Hannah Blossom, Viper and Kay Lee Ray and has en route to her title match gone on to record victories over Erin Angel, Polly Anna and TNA Knockout & former WWE Diva Kat “Winter” Waters. In fact Storm will be entering The Delphi Centre in Sudbury on an incredible 19 month winning streak.

After winning the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship in front of over 900 fans this past April from grappling gold medallist Jenny Sjodin, Alpha Female has been grabbing headlines all over the UK. The EVE Champion has been heavily featured in national newspaper The Daily Star in addition to Challenge TV’s Wrestle-Talk TV Chat Show (Sunday nights 11pm on Challenge TV directly after TNA Impact!) and recently recorded an episode of TNA Spin Cycle. The 6’1″ Professional Predator that is Alpha Female has lost just one match in two and a half years and on November 10 The German Giant gets an opportunity to avenge that one and only defeat when she puts the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship on the line against number one contender and self proclaimed “World’s Finest Wrestler” Nikki Storm live on iPPV.

Tickets for Wrestle-Fever: Alpha v Storm are available now from www.EVEwrestling.com/EVENTS or by calling 01787 82 82 87.

You can follow both Alpha Female and Nikki Storm on Twitter @AlphaFemale1 and @NikkiStorm1

ANGELINA LOVE VS CARMEL JACOB

EVEwrestling.com has confirmed that former five time TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love will step into an EVE ring for the first time on Saturday November 10 at WRESTLE-FEVER in Sudbury, Suffolk, UK against one of the top stars in Europe today in Carmel Jacob of The Glamour Gym!

On the surface it’s easy to think of this as a tough challenge for Carmel going against a twelve year pro and world travelled performer in Angelina Love, but it’s also an incredibly tough challenge for the former member of The Beautiful People.

Carmel Jacob is a near eight year pro who despite her attitude has never been known to turn down a challenge. From facing Alpha Female to competing in Scotland’s first ever female death-match, Carmel Jacob is a manipulative and conniving individual who doesn’t make rash decisions. Carmel will be coming into this match as she does all matches -with a game plan, and it appears stage one is already evident as it’s also been revealed that both Carmel and Sara-Marie now hold an official “Corner Licence” to one another. This means Carmel’s Glamour Gym tag team partner Sara-Marie Taylor will be at ringside to support her team mate and knowing their history the two will be looking to exploit this for everything they can. Will Angelina Love fall prey to the trap of The Glamour Gym – or will the experience of the former TNA Tag Team Champion be enough to outwit the duo and any attempted shenanigans?

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love comes to Pro-Wrestling:EVE on Saturday November 10 at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury, Suffolk, England and goes one on one with Carmel Jacob of The Glamour Gym.

Tickets available NOW at www.EVEwrestling.com/events

You can follow Angelina Love on Twitter @ActualALove and Carmel Jacob @Carmel_Jacob

KIRSTY LOVE VS “THE HARDCORE DAREDEVIL” BLUE NIKITA

Blue Nikita thinks Kirsty Love is a joke. She believes it’s a travesty that a “joke comic wrestler” such as Kirsty Love has had the opportunity to appear on EVE events such as the EVE v ICE series and the first ever live European iPPV “No Man’s Land” while she’s been left at home. The Greek native let these feelings out publicly after suffering a frustrating loss to “The Female Fight Machine” Jenny Sjodin this past July at EVE Special Edition ranting and raving about it at anyone within earshot. Later in the evening as Kirsty attempted to stop Rhia O’Reilly from interfering during the EVE Championship match between defending Champion Alpha Female and the challenger “The Female Predator, Amazon” Ayesha Ray, Kirsty Love was attacked from behind by “The Hardcore Daredevil” herself and the two brawled to the back where they had to be separated by back room staff and roster members.

As a result of all of the above it has been decided that these two will face each other in the ring for the very first time as THE DAREDEVIL BLUE NIKITA goes one on one with Kirsty Love!

Can Love prove she’s more than just the “Joke comic wrestler” that Blue Nikita claims and live up to her biggest match yet? Or will Blue Nikita get to take out her career frustrations in violent manor on the teenager? We’ll find out at EVE on November 10 in Sudbury!

Tickets available now from www.EVEwrestling.com/events or by calling 01787 82 82 87

JANEY BRITANNICO VS “PORTUGAL’S PERFECT ATHLETE” SHANNA

Jane Beatrix Dunn. Super Janey B. Janey Britannico. 99.9% of people believe these three individuals are one and the same. The .1% that refutes these claims is Britannico herself. Nobody knows why the now UK Luchadora denies it but she evidently has her reasons.
“Portugal’s Perfect Athlete” Shanna has had a difficult year, first missing the EVE iPPV “No Man’s Land” back in February after suffering a shoulder injury at the hands of Jenny Sjodin, then a few months later she was forced to undergo knee surgery which and miss “Special Edition” in July and kept her away until now. EVEwrestling.com recently caught up with Shanna who’s displaying more of an attitude than previously seen and will no doubt be looking to make an impact with a successful return.

There is however something to be said about the pairing of these two in a contest on this particular night for as we know this is also the date where Shanna’s “Perfect Storm” tag team partner “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm challenges Alpha Female for the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Championship….Janey Britannico – should she in fact be the same person as Jane Beatrix Dunn and Super Janey B – just happens to be the only person Alpha has ever shown any emotion towards when she rescued the former Glamour Gym PA from a beating at the hands of Sara-Marie Taylor and Carmel Jacob and would later go on to successfully team with the would-be Super-Hero against The Glamour Gym at the following EVE event.
Could Janey Britannico and Alpha Female do
the double on “Perfect Storm” in singles competition? Will Shanna telegraph Alpha’s future with a win over Janey Britannico? We’ll find out on November 10 at WRESTLE-FEVER!

“The All-Star” Erin Angel vs “The Technical Supremo” Fiona Fraser

Much like Shanna “The All-Star” Erin Angel also returns to EVE action on Saturday November 10 when she battles the debuting “Technial Supremo” Fiona Fraser. While not a great deal is currently known about Fraser we can tell you that she is a graduate of the SWA academy in Glasgow, Scotland which also produced talent such as “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm, Viper, Kirsty Love, Joe Coffey and Damian O’Connor. As per her nickname Fraser specialises in technical wrestling. A fan of the World of Sport era of British Wrestling Fraser has a made a point to directly learn from and train with respected veterans such as Johnny Kidd in addition to studying legendary talents such as Johnny Saint and Steve Grey. A victory over Erin Angel would not only be the biggest win in the career of Fraser but it would also be the biggest statement any debuting Professional has ever made in the rings of EVE and will no doubt usher in the dawn a supreme era!

When you’re talking about British wrestling, one of the leading faces of modern British wrestling over the last 10 years is without a doubt “The All Star” Erin Angel. Despite just being in her mid twenties Erin began her wrestling career at the tender age of just 15. Directly learning from respected British wrestling talents such as Doug Williams, Johnny Storm, Phil Powers & “The Soldier Of Doom” Jace The Ace it was Erin Angel that was the first female British wrestler to bring the high flying style to the women’s scene in Europe while never forgetting the roots of her country by also learning its historic art-form. While Erin Angel is arguably the most respected female wrestler in the UK today amongst her peers it can be said that she’s never truly received the recognition and attention that she truly deserves by fans and promotions the world over. Because of this “The All-Star” will no doubt be looking to get back on to winning ways in EVE with a victory over “The Technical Supremo” and beginning putting together a challenge for whomever comes out of the main event as the Pro-Wrestling:EVE Champion.

**

Also set to appear at WRESTLE-FEVER:

Holly & Hannah – THE BLOSSOM TWINS!
Taking time away from their TNA British Bootcamp filming is Holly & Hannah Blossom who will be looking to put their loss to Ama-Reilly at Special Edition behind them!

“The Fightin’ Irish” Rhia O’Reilly & “The Amazon” Ayesha Ray – AMA-REILLY

They ran riot throughout the whole night at EVE Special Edition and no doubt Rhia & Ayesha will be looking to do the same thing again at WRESTLE-FEVER!

**

Kacey & Leigh – THE OWENS TWINS

Ireland’s twin tandem will be looking to secure their first victory in Pro-Wrestling:EVE!

**

“The Lancashire Terrier” APRIL DAVIDS

After missing Special Edition and reaching the finals of the 2012 Queen Of The Ring Tournament the woman who went from opening match to main event in the space of just 17 months will be looking to regain her place with a victory at WRESTLE-FEVER!

**

KAY LEE RAY

Kay Lee Ray is arguably the most exciting female wrestler in Europe today and after just missing out on 2012 Queen Of The Ring following a loss in the finals to “The Dynamite Queen” Nikki Storm, the human red arrow of wrestling will be wanting to get into the title hunt with a big win at WRESTLE-FEVER!

**

THE DEBUT OF A BRAND NEW TAG TEAM

The Tag Team division is certainly heating up and EVEwrestling.com has learned that a brand new tag team will debut at WRESTLE-FEVER but unfortunately for whomever their opponents may be, we won’t find out their identities until match time itself!

**

FORMER TNA KNOCKOUT CHAMPION TAYLOR WILDE

Angelina Love won’t be the only former TNA Knockout in attendance at Wrestle-Fever on November 10. Former TNA Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde will be making her first wrestling event appearance since retiring in February 2011. Fans lucky enough to be in attendance will get the incredibly rare opportunity to meet and get their picture taken with the former 2 time TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion.

**

THAT’S NOT ALL FOLKS…..

Stay tuned to our FaceBook page http://www.FaceBook.com/EVEwrestling and keep an eye out for our tweets by following us @ProWrestlingEVE as we’ll soon be announcing Angelina Love’s opponent at #WrestleFever and we’ll also be announcing more names that are currently scheduled to appear at The Delphi Centre in Sudbury on November 10 including another return after a period of absence, EVE debuts~ and more!

Skyler Moon Reveals Eating Disorder

Just over a week ago, we reported that Skyler Moon‘s absence from WWE‘s NXT live event shows and on the company’s website was because of her being part of sponsored rehab. Following that, some websites erroneously reported that the rehab was down to drug issues, which the former Buggy Nova took to her Twitter to clarify:
For all the rumors and speculations, I do not have a drug problem, I have an eating disorder. Thank you all for the love and support!! I will b back stronger then ever :) soon!!!!! I love you guys thanks for having my back. I’m not ashamed of my disease, i’m blessed to want to make myself better.
The series of tweets has since been deleted for reasons unknown, but it prompted speculation about whether going into rehab would affect her standing in WWE. I have a few thoughts on that – but first, it may be worth providing some insight on what Skyler is dealing with, and it’s just as serious as any addiction.

While Moon makes no reference of what eating disorder she is battling, it tends to be one of two – Anorexia nervosa or Bulimia nervosa. The U.S. National Library of Medicine defines anorexia as when someone who loses weight than is considered healthy for their age and height, with people possibly experiencing intense fear of weight gain, even when they are underweight. Bulimia is slightly different, as it is comprised of binge-eating food and then purging it by either vomiting or using laxatives to prevent weight gain – some people with bulimia may also be anorexic, though this is not always the case. When it comes to anorexia, the University Of Iowa claims “participation in sports, ballet, modeling, wrestling, and other activities that promote thinness accentuates the drive to lose weight.

Complications from anorexia can include osteoporosis (brittle bones, which is not good for wrestling), kidney and liver problems, depression, tooth decay and seizures. Bulimia can lead to issues like dental cavities and permanent damage to the oesophagus due to the acid from vomiting, as well as electrolyte imbalances, depression again and pancreatitis. Both conditions are potentially fatal. In the US, there are up to 24 million people with an eating disorder, and the conditions have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.

As you can see, we are talking about serious consequences here. A number of celebrities have dealt with eating disorders in the past. Paula Abdul, Lady Gaga, Joan Rivers, Sharon Osbourne, Geri Halliwell and in the last few hours, Nicole Scherzinger have all admitted to battling bulimia, while Calista Flockheart, Snooki, Tara Reid, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Halliwell’s Spice Girl bandmates Victoria Beckham and Mel C have all dealt with anorexia, while in wrestling, Angelina Love had to go to some lengths to refute claims that she had a problem. Some, like Jane Fonda and Alanis Morrisette fought both issues, while for others, it has claimed their life – the most famous of which was Karen Carpenter, who went on a water diet to lose weight, before eventually dying from her anorexia in 1983 at the age of 32 weighing just 80 pounds.

With all that in mind, and considering the potentially lethal consequences of eating disorders, I have to congratulate 22-year old Skyler for acknowledging hers, and also accepting the help which WWE offered to her. As Halliwell told the BBC in 2003, part of the recovery means holding your hands up in the air: “I think there’s a well known quote – the truth sets you free. It’s a very liberating thing – when you say this is who I am warts and all and then you can just get on with life. It’s amazing.”

By accepting the help, Moon has shown – and stated in her tweets – that she WANTS to deal with it, and that is a massive boost to her – which brings us back to the speculation about if this will affect her prospects. Personally, I would not imagine it will. After all, she has accepted the help rather than reject it – doing that may have been a black mark against her, as Jeff Hardy was released from WWE in 2003 for not accepting rehab for what was later revealed to be an addiction to crystal meth. By showing the strength to sort things out rather than bury her head in the sand, it has to be a plus.
If you wanted to take a more cynical look at things, it would not look good for WWE to let someone go after they have accepted the help – in that situation, Skyler would be damned if she did and damned if she didn’t. Besides, the media would have a field day with it, and despite her not being part of WWE anymore, Linda McMahon‘s political opponents may try to use it as ammunition.
There is no guarantee that it will be a permanent solution – former Big Brother UK contestant and admitted anorexic Nikki Grahame has relapsed a number of times, and has been in rehab on eleven occasions, saying “It’s something I will battle all of my life, but I want more than anything to get it under control” – but it’s certainly a step in the right direction, and that has to be supported.
There is a possibility that Moon’s temporary public acknowledgement could inspire others to seek help, which is a light in the dark. A couple of examples of websites where you can get more advice on eating disorders can be found by clicking here and here.

All the best to you Skyler, hopefully we’ll see you back in the ring at some point soon.
