New Names Added To SHINE

Several new names have officially been added to the SHINE roster over at ShineWrestling.com. The additions featured are as follows: Marti Belle, Hailey Hatred, Saraya Knight, Amber O’Neal, Shenaynay, Kellie Skater and Nikki St. John.
These names follow the previous new additions announced to debut for the company at their second event, taking place Friday, August 17th at the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida. It is unknown at this time whether or not the women featured above will be present at SHINE 2 as well, but we will post any information as soon as it becomes available regarding their imminent debuts.
You can order tickets to the next SHINE event here, and also purchase it on iPPV at this link.

Sara vs Mia Set For Next Taping

It looks like we just might be starting to see the introduction of a women’s division in Ring of Honor after all. Their website reports that Sara Del Rey will square off against Princess Mia (Yim) at the next set of TV Tapings in Baltimore, Maryland Friday, August 3rd.
This announcement comes at the heels of Sara’s return to the company where she attacked Maria Kanellis and saved Adam Cole from a beat down. Del Rey and Kanellis are also set to face in a mixed tag team match at the company’s next iPPV, “Boiling Point”. We’re not quite sure how long Sara’s tenure in ROH will be, but it seems that they’re certainly using her to the fullest while they can.
No word on which episode her match with Yim will be part of just yet, but we should have full results and video as soon as possible.
You can purchase tickets to the TV Taping to witness Sara and Mia square off by clicking here.

Kharma Has Been Released

Nearly two weeks ago, speculation erupted over Kharma‘s status with the WWE after the Diva’s Twitter account was moved to the WWE’s Alumni list. She tweeted twice that day (12), seemingly confirming her release, but it wasn’t until earlier today that she outright stated that she was gone from the company. Replying to a fan’s question on Twitter, Kharma said:

“yes, I was [released]. It doesn’t mean I’ll never be back.”

While it’s extremely disappointing that she is indeed gone from the WWE, the second part of her tweet seems to offer a glimmer of hope: might Kharma return to the WWE in the future?

Angelina Love Goes One On One With Allysin Kay

In one of her first appearances since announcing her departure from TNA earlier this month,Angelina Love, now reverting back to her original ring name, Angel Williams, is set to face off against one third of the Midwest Militia, Allysin Kay.
The two will collide this Saturday, July 28th, for Canadian promotion, NEO Wrestling as a part of their upcoming event titled “A Midsummers Nightmare”.
Tickets to the event are $20 for ringside VIP, which includes a Meet & Greet as well, or $10 for advance tickets. You can purchase them at thislink.

New ACW American Joshi Champ: Barbi Hayden

Texas based promotion, ACW, has crowned a new American Joshi Champion in Barbi Hayden.
Hayden claimed the title at the company’s 100th event Sunday night, “From Innocence to Insanity 6″ and ended the reign of Angel Blue in doing so. The match contested was a four way, also involving former holders of the title, Athena and Portia Perez.

This marks Hayden’s first reign as American Joshi Champion for the promotion.

Sara Del Rey Returns To ROH *Video*

Sara Del Rey has certainly been a hot topic at the moment, and now you can check out her official return to Ring of Honor from this past weekend’s episode. (Note: The episode was taped last month, prior to speculation of her being WWE-bound surfaced.)

Del Rey ran out to the ring to stop the ambush of Adam Cole at the hands of Maria Kanellis and ‘Brutal’ Bob Evans following Cole and his partner, Eddie Edwards’ tag team victory over Evans and Mike Bennett.

As reported yesterday, Del Rey and Kanellis are set to face each other in a mixed tag team match on August 11th at ROH’s next iPPV, Boiling Point. Del Rey teams up with Eddie Edwards, and Kanellis with Mike Bennett.

Check out video of Sara’s return to the company below:

Jackie Haas Has Fourth Child

Congratulations go out to Jackie Haas, whom gave birth to her fourth child – and second son – last night!

Husband Charlie confirmed the arrival of their new baby boy on his Twitter account, writing:
"Charles D Haas III. Born at 11:18 pm. July 23rd. Welcome to the World.
Thank you everyone for the all the good thoughts. Jackie and Little “Chuck” are doing great. God Bless."
Jackie and Charlie are already the proud parents of three children: two girls, Kayla Jacquelyn Haas (born December 14, 2006) and Taylor Suzanne Haas (born September 17, 2008) and a boy named after Charlie’s late brother, Russ: Thomas Russell Haas II (born June 1, 2010).

Congratulations once again to the Haas family! And God bless her, four children?! Jesus help that girl.

TNA Losing All Of The Beautiful People?

Hot on the heels of Angelina Love recently departing TNA, a report suggests that her former Beautiful People partner Velvet Sky could soon be following suit.
PWInsider reports that Sky “has either finished or will be finishing up with TNA shortly”, describing her status with the company as “tenuous”.
The report states that Sky has been negotiating a new deal with TNA, but “most signs have pointed to her exit”.

Velvet was one of the original Knockouts when the division launched in 2007 and has always been a major focal point of TNA, appearing on posters, promotional material etc. Most recently, she appeared in Montgomery Gentry’s music video, an appearance organized through TNA.
She and Love hit fame with their Beautiful People characters, and later, she found success with Madison Rayne when they became Knockouts Tag Team Champions. Velvet received a push as a singles competitor last year, winning the Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory.

If Velvet does leave, it would be a big blow to the division and TNA, who have marketed her as one of their key personalities.

AJ New RAW GM!

Talk about a swerve!

Instead of saying “I do” to Daniel Bryan, the Diva of the moment, AJ said “Yes, yes, yes” to a job offer from Vince McMahon — to become the new General Manager of Raw.

It all went down when AJ and Daniel were due to tie the knot, but before the reverand — former WWE star, Slick (yes, really) — could declare them husband and wife, AJ dropped the bombshell that she’d said yes to someone else.

It turns out that she had said yes to a business proposal from McMahon, who came out and announced that AJ would be taking over Monday nights.

The era of AJ is here! What can we expect from AJ as GM — mandatory skipping, converse for every audience member?

Kelly Kelly Returning To WWE Tonight

Former Divas Champion, Kelly Kelly, who has been taking time off from WWE over the past couple of months, is returning to the road and will be present for tomorrow’s 1,000th episode of Raw.

Kelly tweeted: “On the road again. Can’t wait to see everyone at the #raw1000.”

No word yet on if Kelly will be used on the broadcast which is expected to feature dozens of Superstars, Divas and legends from past and present.

Kelly has been off the road over the past two months, last appearing on the May 21st episode of Raw.

ODB Renews Her Contract

TNA Knockout ODB‘s appearances on Impact Wrestling have been scarce as of late, leading some fans to speculate about her future with the company. In response to such a question on Twitter, ODB confirmed on Friday that she has signed a new deal with TNA:
“@scousewrestling: @TheODBBAM do you still wrestle in tna have not seen you for a few weeks on tv” yep just signd a new deal,I’m ready 2#BAM"
With Angelina Love‘s recent departure, some were expecting underutilized Knockouts like ODB to follow suit, but clearly she’s interested in sticking around. The question is, will the other “in limbo” Knockouts feel the same?

Thoughts: Do her boobs have their own contract? What about the flask?

New RAW Logo To Debut Tonight

WWE will be debuting a new logo for Raw tonight on the 1,000th episode of the show.

As first revealed by TVLine, the new logo marks the next era for Raw as it shuttles past the four-digit episode mark, making it the longest running weekly primetime series ever.

Del Rey & Edwards To Face Bennett & Kanellis At ROH iPPV

The females will finally be stepping into the squared circle for Ring of Honor, as the Queen of Wrestling Sara Del Rey and the First Lady of ROH Maria Kanellis face off in a mixed tag team match on the company’s next iPPV, Boiling Point.

Ring of Honor revealed on their website earlier today that Del Rey will team up with Eddie Edwards, as Kanellis partners with her boyfriend, Mike Bennett. The match finally responds to what fans clamoring to see the Women of Honor back in the ring.

It begs the question, though: Could this be the start of the full fledged division we’ve been waiting for? After all, Del Rey was interviewed, in which she said that ROH was planning to put together a division this year. Of course, with word spreading that Del Rey is WWE-bound, will there even be a division considering the obvious choice for centerpiece of such a division is the Queen of Wrestling.

Boiling Point will air Saturday, August 11th, and comes to us from Providence, Rhode Island.

You can either purchase your tickets here or order the show on iPPV through ROHWrestling.com.

THOUGHTS: Holy freakasarus! This makes me so happy! 1) I love Sara Del Rey. 2) I love Eddie Edwards. 3) I can't wait to watch Maria and Bennett get stomped into the floor. This is the first time I've been this excited about a match in a long time. I'm #TeamDieHard and #TeamDelRey, so I hope they win and Sara shows Maria exactly who the real First Lady of ROH is. Cause it sure ain't Maria.

Stars Of SHINE Promote The iPPV

Friday morning, a trio of stars from SHINE Wrestling appeared on local morning show, Daytime, to promote the debut event which aired Friday night on iPPV.
Former TNA stars Daffney, Christina Von Eerie and Santana Garrett were on the show.

Stephanie McMahon Talks Divas And Vickie Jabs

WWE executive Stephanie McMahon took part in her first ever Twitter session on Tuesday evening, answering questions via The Online Mom to promote WWE’s 1,000th episode next Monday night.
McMahon responded to fans’ tweets via the @WWEmoms Twitter account and made some noteworthy comments.
Giving her opinion on women’s wrestling, she said: “I love that our programming features strong, smart, athletic women.”
Another fan asked if she felt Jerry Lawler’s jibes at Vickie Guerrero‘s weight on commentary set a good example for kids. McMahon responded: “Vickie Guerrero is a strong character who stands up for herself.”

Tenille Tayla WWE Update

Former SHIMMER star Tenille, who I reported had relocated to Tampa, Florida to begin working for WWE under a developmental deal, reported to Florida Championship Wrestling today.
Australian-born Tenille was signed to a deal last March after successfully earning a contract in an open tryout. However, due to nagging shoulder injuries which required surgery, she had not yet reported to developmental.
Tenille initially trained in Australia and later honed her craft in Canada under the tutelage of former WWE, ECW and WCW star Lance Storm.
Storm tweeted: “Congrats to SWA grad @TenilleTayla who started in FCW (WWE Developmental) today. Hard work pays off.”
Thoughts: Good luck to Tenille in WWE. She looks like a star and is a good wrestler, too. If Kelly Kelly is indeed looking to leave, Tenille would certainly fit the bill for WWE’s next blonde bombshell.

SHIMMER Tapings During WM Weekend

SHIMMER has announced that it is breaking away from its usual non-touring schedule to put on a show as part of WrestleMania weekend in the New York/New Jersey area.
SHIMMER, along with four other top independent promotions — CHIKARA, CZW, Dragon Gate USA and EVOLVE — will present the first annual WrestleCon from April 5th to April 7th in New Jersey.
WrestleCon will emanate from the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ.
SHIMMER will tape Volume 53 as part of the events on April 6th at 12pm ET.
Promoter Dave Prazak says: “Though SHIMMER has been primarily a non-touring, Chicago based DVD series during our first seven years of operation, we are pleased to make a rare exception to that rule come April in order to be a part of the WrestleCon festivities. SHIMMER’s participation in that weekend’s events will give the dedicated wrestling fans who will be in area a fantastic opportunity to witness SHIMMER 53 live and in person. We are excited to join the other top wrestling companies which will be a part of WrestleCon to provide the fans with something different that weekend, a live all female card featuring the very best women athletes in professional wrestling today, SHIMMER style!”
SHIMMER has currently released 48 volumes of its DVD series and will add four more volumes, Volumes 49 through 52, this October in its regular home of Berwyn, Illinois.
Volume 53 will mark SHIMMER’s first live event of 2013.
The company has previously filmed almost exclusively in Berwyn, sans a rare taping in Florida for Volume 14.

Mickie James Headed To UK

TNA Knockout Mickie James is heading to the UK in September to compete for Pro Wrestling Elite.
The company announced yesterday that James will be part of the company’s double header in Ayr, Scotland on September 15th and 16th.
James will face Pro-Wrestling: EVE standout Kay Lee Ray.
The young Scottish wrestler has caught the attention of British wrestling fans over the past year. In February, Ray reached the finals of EVE’s Queen of the Ring tournament as part of the company’s first Internet pay per view, No Man’s Land. Despite losing ultimately losing to Nikki Storm in the finals, Ray impressed against in bouts against April Davids and Carmel Jacob.

Saraya Knight Talks Paige In WWE And Coming To US

Promoting the upcoming documentary in the UK about the Knight family, matriarch Saraya (real name Julia) talks about daughter Saraya-Jade (aka Britani Knight)’s transition to the US to work for WWE where she now competes as Paige in developmental territory, FCW.
Speaking about a scene in the documentary in which the Knights see Paige off at the airport as she is due to report to FCW in Tampa, Florida, Saraya says:
"I haven’t seen it yet! I’ll probably end up crying all the way through it when I watch it. I remember howling like a banshee. Even talking about it now, my throat is constricting a bit. As a mum, I want to put her in a little box and wrap her up and protect her. But that wouldn’t allow her to be herself. This is her life now and I’ve done the hard bit. I’ve got her here safely and now it’s down to her to make her own mistakes. But I don’t think this is going to be a mistake. I think this is going to be the making of her."
Saraya also reveals that Paige was “unbelievably homesick” when she left for the US:
"Oh she was unbelievably homesick. We were getting around 16 or 17 phone calls a day. And I remember saying to her that I’d send money over and she could buy a ticket home. But she had friends going over to see her and then I was going over, and then it was Wrestlemania. So as much as she was homesick and wanted to come home, she was defiant and stubborn enough to say, ‘No, I only get one shot and I’m not going to come home and sit there regretting it because of homesickness.’ Within a month, she was sending us emails about how happy she was. She sent a beautiful email the other day and the whole family sat and cried. She said that she can’t believe at 19, she’s living her dream, which we made possible for her."

Kharma Gone From WWE?

It looks as though Kharma may be gone from WWE.
After WWE’s official Twitter account moved Kharma’s profile to its ‘Alumni’ list along with a multitude of former WWE stars, including the Bella Twins, speculation began to grow on the social networking site.
Responding via Twitter, the former Awesome Kong wrote: “Getting a flood of dm’s. I guess the cat’s out of the bag.”
“Yes. I have been officially promoted to the alumni section of the WWE roster.”
Kharma, real name Kia Stevens, joined WWE in December 2010 and debuted in May of last year. Kharma announced her pregnancy in June 2011 marking a long absence from TV. After sadly announcing she had lost the baby, Kharma made a surprise appearance in January’s Royal Rumble match but a full-time return had yet to be penciled in.
While Kharma’s tweets seem to suggest she may be gone from WWE, the star has been known to playfully joke around with fans — including teasing her return on occasion. Could it be a simple case of classic Kharma trickery feeding into the WWE Twitter listing her under its ‘Alumni’? The wording of her tweet, ‘promoted to…’, could suggest so. And of course, anyone who has used Twitter knows how easy it is to mistakenly tweet/list/retweet something. At this time, there’s no confirmation of her status.
Update: WWE.com has now moved Kharma’s profile page to the Alumni section of its roster.

Former WSU Champ NOT Headed To WWE

Rumors circulating on various websites this past weekend linking veteran wrestler and former WSU World Champion Mercedes Martinez to a WWE tryout are false.
It was reported that Martinez took part in a WWE tryout at the company’s developmental camp in Tampa, FL.
Wishing to clarify on these claims, Martinez told Diva Dirt: “As far as any rumors to a WWE tryout or even getting signed, those rumors are false.”
It looks as though the rumors began circulating after another female wrestler, Mercedes KV, was spotted in the audience on a recent episode of FCW’s television show.
The WSU and SHIMMER star will next be seen as part of SHINE Wrestling’s debut event on Internet pay per view July 20th.
As reported earlier this month, WWE has indeed offered a contract to Martinez’s fellow top independent wrestler, Sara Del Rey.

Knight Family Documentary Airing

A documentary about the Knight family, including current FCW star Paige aka Britani Knight, will air on UK television next week.
“The Wrestlers: Fighting with My Family” will air on Channel 4 on Wednesday, July 18th at 10pm.
The documentary will follow a year in the life of the Knights.
It looks as though footage of Britani’s preparations to join WWE will be featured.
Read the synopsis below:
"The Knights are dad ‘Rowdy Ricky Knight’, mum Julia ‘Sweet Saraya’, brothers ‘Zak Zodiac’ and Roy ‘The Zebra Kid’, and little sister ‘Britani Knight’. They claim to be the biggest wrestling bloodline in the world.
With a moral code of their own, this family pack a real punch, often at each other. They ‘live, eat and breathe wrestling’ while running the ‘World Association of Wrestling’ from their council house in suburban Norfolk.
With tough personal histories fuelling their drive, wrestling has always kept them together, although it is now threatening to tear them apart.
As one of America’s biggest wrestling federations searches Britain for talent, the kids are selected for try-outs. This could make their careers in America, but take them away from home and their tight-knit family life for ever.
The Knights might get what they always wanted, but will success make or break them?"

Sara Del Rey Offered Contract With WWE

WWE has offered a contract to Sara Del Rey, reports PWInsider.

According to the report, Del Rey has been offered a deal pending the results of medical examinations. The way WWE works is that once an offer is made to a talent, a contract is contingent on them passing the battery of tests required for medical purposes.

Del Rey, arguably the top female independent wrestler in North America over the past several years, is best known for her work in Ring of Honor, SHIMMER (where she was the first SHIMMER Champion), and CHIKARA. She was also named Diva Dirt’s Wrestler of the Year for 2011.

Del Rey’s former ROH stablemates, the Kings of Wrestling Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero, have both joined WWE in the past year with Castagnoli now performing on SmackDown as Antonio Cesaro.

The Queen of Wrestling still has several independent dates in the coming weeks: She is due to face Jazz in the main event of SHINE Wrestling’s debut Internet pay per view. She also will challenge Eddie Kingston in the main event of CHIKARA on July 28th for the Grand Championship. Also just announced, Del Rey will face Hailey Hatred in August at AIW’s Girls Night Out 7.

This past weekend, Del Rey and partner Courtney Rush lost the SHIMMER Tag Team Championships to the Canadian Ninjas at NCW Femmes Fatales.

Adding an extra wrinkle to this story, Del Rey recently made her return to Ring of Honor at their last television tapings. Obviously, if she were to go to WWE, it would have a knock-on effect on her current ROH storyline.

In an exclusive interview last year, Del Rey said that joining WWE was her “main focus and goal”.

And note from me: this is my 100th post! Go me!

New SHINE Wrestling Poster Revealed

SHINE Wrestling has released another poster for its upcoming Internet pay per view debut on July 20th.

This one features lots of the names announced so far.

You can pre-order the iPPV right now.

WWE Launching New Show

WWE has announced the launch of a new weekly TV series, WWE Main Event, to debut on the ION network in October.

An official press release sent out states that the new show will air Wednesdays at 8pm ET and will continue storylines from Raw and SmackDown.

The show premieres on October 3rd.

Read the press release below:

"STAMFORD, Conn., June 25, 2012 – WWE (NYSE: WWE) and ION Television today announced a new weekly one-hour original series airing on Wednesday nights at 8/7C. WWE Main Event will debut on October 3, 2012, and feature WWE Superstars and Divas from the rosters of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. The new show will be available in 100 million U.S. television households on ION Television, a top-rated general entertainment network that features a broad mix of critically acclaimed series, movies and original programming.
“ION Television is delighted to begin a new partnership with such a successful and well-recognized franchise as WWE,” said Brandon Burgess, CEO, ION Media Networks. “As a general entertainment network with a solid foundation, WWE Main Event is a great addition to our lineup that features something for everyone. We look forward to introducing our ION audience to all of the excitement and drama WWE has to offer as well as welcoming a passionate new fan base to the network.”
“WWE looks forward to this new partnership with ION Television,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO. “We are excited about producing this new television show, WWE Main Event, and bringing our fans to ION Television every Wednesday.”

WWE Main Event will feature in-ring action and fit seamlessly in storylines from Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown, making Wednesday night appointment viewing for fans. The new series will offer a big arena experience with live audiences like current WWE weekly programs.
Thoughts: Hmm, they say it will continue storylines from Raw and SmackDown, but I’m skeptical. Another WWE Superstars? Or a replacement?

Del Rey vs Jazz At SHINE Debut

The first match for SHINE Wrestling’s debut show on Internet pay per view has been announced.
Queen of Wrestling Sara Del Rey announced at last week’s EVOLVE 14 show that she will face former WWE Women’s Champion Jazz at SHINE 1 on July 20th.

Del Rey defeated Santana Garrett at the EVOLVE show in a preview match for SHINE, before making the announcement citing that she wanted some “actual competition”.

With two veterans of this caliber competing, it’s hard not to look forward SHINE later this month.
You can pre-order the iPPV stream for the show here.

Reby Sky Gets Hardcore

Reby Sky may have proved just how hardcore she can get by putting former TNA wrestler and current ROH star Homicide through a table with a second rope elbow drop at Saturday’s “Extreme Rising” show in Philadelphia, PA.

The two had had a confrontation at the previous night’s show in Corona, NY. Results say that Reby came out to the ring and cut a promo about the women who had paved the way for her to be there (women like Beulah McGillicutty and Francine). As she was leaving, Homicide made his way to the ring and the two exchanged words. Reby slapped him, which led to him laying her out with an Ace Crusher.

Sky then accompanied boyfriend Matt Hardy to the ring for his main event match with Homicide and Jerry Lynn on the Saturday show.

She got involved in the match when Homicide laid out Hardy with a chair, and went to protect him. Homicide apparently went to hit her with the CopKilla, but she was saved by Jerry Lynn. As Hardy was checking on Reby, he was attacked by Homicide and hit with the CopKilla for the pin.
Post-match, Lynn attacked Homicide and hit him with a cradle piledriver. Hardy and Lynn set up a table and Reby came off the ropes with her “SkyDive” elbow drop to gain a measure of revenge. The three celebrated in the ring to close the show.

In other news, Reby then somehow managed to draw ire from fans on Twitter when she was dubbed the new “Queen of Extreme” by one of the event organizers, “The Franchise” Shane Douglas, with many proclaiming it was because of boyfriend Matt Hardy that she received that title. This led to Hardy himself explaining the moniker and the fair reasoning behind it:

"Wanted to comment on something I’ve seen on my timeline. @RebySky hasn’t ever declared herself as the “Queen of Extreme” because she’s with me. The #ExtremeRising group’s office of Cody, Kevin, Steve & Shane Douglas attached that title to her because she is going to serve & be promoted as the promotion’s female centerpiece. The “Queen of Extreme” moniker goes with Reby being the first lady of #ExtremeRising, and is in no way a description of her wrestling style. Much like the “Queen of Extreme” terminology was associated with Francine in the original ECW. Reby’s true character is majorly different from any other female that has ever been associated with an “Extreme” style. In time and as she develops, everyone will see the true amaziness of who @RebySky truly is."
You can already purchase both evening’s events on DVD.

Angelina Love Leaves TNA

Former five-time TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love has announced on Twitter that she has been granted her release from TNA, and cites her departure as “completely amicable”.
“To all my wonderful fans, just want to let you know I have been granted my release from TNA. It was completely amicable parting of ways and I want to thank TNA and all of its employees for the wonderful journey I’ve had there over the years. Now I’m on to the next amazing chapter of my life! If you are looking to book me please contact John at john@spectacularsignings.com Thank you so much!”
As previously mentioned, Love was a record-breaking five time Knockouts champion, as well as a former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion alongside Winter.
She made a couple of appearances for TNA in 2004, mainly wrestling on Xplosion against Trinity, and was brought back to the company with the relaunch of their women’s division in 2007. Originally wrestling under her previous ring name “Angel Williams”, she quickly formed a popular alliance with Talia Madison (later re-named Velvet Sky) as “The Beautiful People”.

New FCW Divas Champ

FCW has crowned a new Divas Champion in Caylee Turner

Turner won the belt at a live event Friday night in Melbourne, Florida.

Head trainer for the developmental territory, Bill DeMott, confirmed the news via Twitter: “New #FCW Divas Champion @WWECayleeTurner !!!!! What a show we are having!”

With the victory, Turner ends Raquel Diaz‘s title reign, which recently became the longest in the championship’s history.

This marks Turner’s first championship win. She is perhaps most well known for her stint on WWE Tough Enough, where she placed fifth in the competition overall. Since the reality show wrapped up, Turner returned to FCW where she has been performing ring announcing duties and participating in various matches on live events throughout the state of Florida.

Congrats to Caylee!

The Queen Returns To ROH

The Queen of Wrestling, Sara Del Rey, has returned to Ring of Honor.
Del Rey will be part of this weekend’s tapings for ROH’s syndicated television show.

Del Rey was phased out of ROH last year following the company’s purchase by Sinclair Broadcasting. At the time, the team she was aligned with, the Kings of Wrestling — Claudio Castagnoli (now Antonio Cesaro on SmackDown) and Chris Hero (now Kassius Ohno in FCW) — left ROH to join WWE.

Del Rey returned to confront self-professed First Lady of ROH, Maria Kanellis, after the latter slapped Adam Cole at the end of a tag team match which saw Cole and Eddie Edwards defeat Kanellis’ boyfriend, Mike Bennett and Brutal Bob Evans.

Do I smell a new alliance in the works???

Tenille Tayla Finally Going To FCW

The wait is over!

Former SHIMMER star, Tenille Tayla, who was signed by WWE last year, has relocated to Tampa, Florida and is due to begin in WWE’s developmental territory, FCW shortly.

In a message on Facebook, Tenille wrote: “Thank you to all my family and friends for the love and support. It’s been a long hard journey but happy and proud to say I am now getting a chance to fulfil my dream of not only living in the USA but working for the WWE. I am so excited to start this new journey in my life… Can hardly believe it still! :D Hellooooo Tampa!! Let’s get this show on the road!”

Australian-born Tenille won a WWE contract after impressing officials in an open tryout in March 2011. However, she has had a long road to making it to WWE. Her FCW debut was delayed due to her having surgery on pre-existing shoulder injuries last year.

Good luck to Tenille as she embarks on this new chapter in her career.

Maxine Gone From WWE

It’s official: Maxine is gone from WWE.

The NXT Diva, real name Karlee Perez, confirmed via Twitter that she has come to terms with WWE on her departure and thanked the company.

She wrote: “We have come to terms on my release. Its been a ride I want to thank @wwe for the experience and understanding on my feelings. Its not easy saying goodbye. But there are other options at which I can do. To my fans you may not see me on the WWE screen but on another. I want to do nothing but get the real chance to entertain all of you…sometimes you have to make that chance for yourself!! I want to take all of you with me…so I hope you all understand why i made my decision.”

Perez also added that she wasn’t planning on going to another wrestling company, writing: “I’m not going to another wrestling company that is not in my plans!!! I didn’t ask for my release to go to another company.”

Perez, who was signed in 2009, has primarily worked on NXT, first on the all-Divas season in 2010, and then for the past year on the fifth season where she has been one of the main focal points.
