Ryo Mizunami To Debut For SHIMMER & Femme Fatales

A new joshi athlete will appear at both SHIMMER on October 27 and 28, as well as at nCw Femmes Fatales the following Saturday on November 3. Former JWP Jr Champion and POP Champion Ryo Mizunami, who is currently affiliated with Pro Wrestling WAVE, will make her US debut alongside SHIMMER regular and Femmes Fatales debutante Hiroyo Matsumoto. Mizunami’s Femmes Fatales appearance will also take place on the 8th anniversary of her her debut.

Starting her career in GAEA on November 3, 2004 but retired when the promotion shut down in 2005, but resumed her career 27 months later when she joined Sendai Girls, moonlighting in NEO, WAVE and Ice Ribbon before making WAVE her new home promotion last year. Described as a technical wrestler, she prefers the Guillotine Drop for her finisher.

Her opponent for the first DVD of the double taping making up Femmes Fatales X has also been announced, with Mizunami wrestling former SHIMMER Tag Team Champion Courtney Rush. Meanwhile, LuFisto will take on Matsumoto, while Mercedes Martinez will meet Pink Flash Kira, before the Super Hardcore Anime and the Latina Sensation settle their differences inside a steel cage on the second taping.

And while we’re discussing Femmes Fatales, the promotion has also confirmed the dates for its first two shows next year. They’re taking place on March 30 – a week before SHIMMER makes its New Jersey debut as part of WrestleCon and two weeks before the Spring tapings in Berwyn – and the summer show will happen on July 6. Make your plans now to be at these shows, if not at the upcoming taping in November.
